What this content is
Drymora provides general wellness information about alcohol and health to help people make informed decisions about their drinking. All content is intended as educational background, not as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Where the evidence comes from
Content is grounded in peer-reviewed research and guidance from recognized public-health bodies, including:
- World Health Organization (WHO) — alcohol and health guidelines
- National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) — Rethinking Drinking
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) — Alcohol & Public Health
- Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
How we frame alcohol risk
We follow the evidence: there is no established safe level of alcohol consumption (WHO, 2023). We use a 'less is better' frame and support both cutting-down and quitting goals equally, without shame. We do not promote any drinking level as risk-free.
How content is reviewed
Articles are checked against primary sources cited in each piece before publication and updated when major guidance changes. We do not have a named medical reviewer on staff — we are a small independent project. Where evidence is contested or unclear, we say so. Where professional advice is warranted, we say so.
Important disclaimer
Drymora is a general-wellness tool, not a medical device, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are concerned about your drinking or your health, please speak with a qualified healthcare provider.
